Street Hearts BG: a Dog Rescue that gives hope to lots of dogs
If you are animal and nature lover, we would love to invite you to visit a dog shelter in Central Bulgaria. Secluded in the beautiful Balkan Mountains, 3 hour drive away from Sofia in the tiny Glushka village, Street Hearts BG gives hope to lots, lots of Bulgarian rescue dogs. The founders Emma and Anthony are British that moved to Bulgaria few years ago. Soon they witnessed the stray animals issue in Bulgaria. Some of the locals do not neuter their pets, they abandon them when they get old and/or sick. The same happens with their newly born puppies, thus the strays become more and more…Currently Emma and Anthony are running neutering program and dog rescue in the area of Dryanovo. They are also driving doggies to their furever homes abroad bringing happy endings.
We are lucky that there are such places as Street Hearts BG who put a lot of efforts in helping rescue animals, making them social and finding furever homes for them. Here is the local project dedicated to the well-being and neutering of cats in the area Catchin’ Tales BG, run by Dan.
If you are willing to be part of a happy ending, let’s go and give love and care to these doggies. Street Hearts BG have a bungalow that you could rent for min 3 nights. In the area we could do sightseeing of the historical towns of Drynovo and/or Tryavna, our old capital Veliko Tarnovo, Etara open-air museum etc. Let us know how long you would like the trip to be and we would customize it for you.
