Tsvetelina Tsankova (Betty)

Destination and Product Manager, Licensed Bilingual (English and German) Tour Guide, Travel Vlogger and Photographer.

Travelling is a way of life for me. I dream of new trips all the time and I feel obsessed by the idea of exploring new destinations whenever I can. I am not materialistic type of person and I like taking risks. One of the craziest things I have done so far is skydiving from 3500m. It is in my nature to be on the move all the time, plan the next challenge to go through and think about new ideas and projects. Travelling is in my blood while change seems to be the thing I sincerely enjoy.

In high school I fell in love with Geography, which sparked my interest about the travel industry. Therefore, I completed a Bachelor’s degree in Tourism and a Master’s degree in European Integration. My professional career in the travel industry began in the summer of 2003. I started working as an intern for a leading tour operator company in Bulgaria, which dealt with Bulgarian heritage and cultural trips. For a period of 5 years in this role I had the chance to work with groups from Germany, the Netherlands, Austria, Switzerland, Canada and France. In the winter of 2007 I spent 3 months as a trainee in a travel company in Dresden, Germany, where I dealt with student trips. This time was precious as it gave me the opportunity to think who I really wanted to be. Upon my return to Bulgaria, I knew it was time for a change.

I realised that if I wanted to grow and develop my ideas professionally, I had to have my own company. Hence, in the summer of 2008 I set up Nvision Travel and following this dream of mine has been an incredible journey by itself. In order to keep my company going I started a second job for a big international company in the technology industry. While it helped me finance my project I knew that it was a temporary situation until I get to spin the wheel faster with my project. Furthermore, realising that it was not possible to perform both jobs effectively at the same time in 2010 I decided to completely dedicate my efforts to Nvision Travel. That was the best decision I ever made and over the years I gained incredible experience, working with tourists from all over the world. In one of my trips, a group from Taiwan gave me the name Betty. Currently, I have two official names: for my European friends it is Tsveti and for my Asian friends – Betty. As a licensed tour guide and keen photographer, I started the first travel vlog in Bulgaria: www.bettytravels.com in 2015. This is my baby and here you can find up-to-date information about all of my trips and perhaps inspiration for your next one. All of that love and passion for travelling I put in our tours. I will be happy and excited indeed to share the beauty of Bulgaria with you.

Albena Tsankova (Beni) & Greta (cat)

Licensed Tour Guide and Planner, Driver, Proofreader

My name is Albena (Beni) and I am a native Bulgarian. I am a licensed tour guide and active driver since 2008. I love traveling but most of all I like meeting people and sharing travel stories. Travel is a way of living for me. I prefer to spend time in my car on the way to a travel site than in an office. Travel is a very enriching experience, that’s why I enjoy it so much and I devote myself to this job. Seeing the happy face of a tourist at the end of a tour, being told thank you for the experience, taking a look at the photos and looking back to all the fun moments during the trip, all that recharges me with positive energy and motivation for new trips and new tourists.
Bulgaria, as a country is not yet among the famous travel destinations, but believe me it has what to offer and how to impress you. We are an ancient country with a rich history, plenty of traditions, delicious food and wines of good quality. Our history is so rich that if I do not summarize it you will get lost in all the kings, years, battles and events. 🙂 We, Bulgarians, are warm and hospitable people, especially in the small towns and villages. For locals in the countryside meeting foreigners is a memorable experience and they will speak with good memories long about it. 🙂 And I love when I help people from different cultures to get to know each other. I think this meeting and conversation is enriching for everyone involved.
If you ask me to recommend you what to see/visit in Bulgaria, I would say: Buzludzha monument, the old town of Plovdiv and Kapana area, the Seven Rila lakes in the summer, Belogradchik rocks and Rila monastery. If you are a wine lover, I would suggest a visit to a local winery. Bulgaria develops quickly as a wine destination and we are proud to have wines of good quality. In addition you would see the vineyards and the people behind the wine brand. If you prefer to take a cooking tour, I would love to share with you the secrets of making banitsa or moussaka. I am a keen cook and I would enjoy to cook together with you.
My professional experience combines a law company, renewable energy company and travel companies. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Tourism from the University of National and World Economy in Bulgaria. In 2006 I was an exchange student by Socrates/Erasmus for one semester in NHTV, Breda, the Netherlands. I am a fluent English speaker and I have basic knowledge in German and Spanish languages.
Last, but not least, I love cats. In 2008 I adopted a cat, female, white and ginger. Her name is Greta and honestly, she is one of my weak points, as I got pretty attached to her. It is very likely that you may get to know her too as I enjoy telling stories about her mischief to my fellow travelers and friends. 🙂
