Our one day tour to Koprivshtitsa will bring you to an old Bulgarian town. You will learn about Bulgarian history, crafts and traditions. Koprivshtitsa is an old Bulgarian town with cobbled-stoned streets and colorful houses. And some of them are also museums. We will visit them together. You will feel as if you travel back in time.
And in this quiet Bulgarian town you will experience the atmosphere of the Bulgarian Revival. The town has kept the Bulgarian culture, crafts and traditions in an authentic way. Furthermore, this is the birthplace of many Bulgarian writers and revolutionaries. So it seems that people born in the mountain are with free spirit.
Koprivshtitsa: what to see
Today Koprivshtitsa has 388 monuments in total. These are architectural, historical, artistic and ethnographic sights. The town was founded at the end of the Second Bulgarian Empire. This is the end of the 14th century. Since then the houses in Koprivshtitsa have changed. And today we see the different forms of the Bulgarian architecture. While visiting the local museums, you will learn more about life in the past. Also we will see the traditional Bulgarian crafts and traditions. Some of them we still keep today.
In addition we can have an optional lunch at a local restaurant. We recommend that you taste some of the traditional Bulgarian meals. But let’s do not forget the local drinks. Have a glass of Bulgarian wine, beer or rakia. Cheers! In Bulgarian we say Nazdrave ( Наздраве). 🙂
